We work with dog owners who love their dogs, but hate the frustrations of training.

Potty Training, chewing, nipping, jumping, obedience training, barking, pulling on the leash - it's overwhelming.

Let’s face it, dogs don’t come with a user manual and these unwanted behaviors be can be frustrating. We make training simple, effective, and fun for you and your dog or puppy.

We have classes geared for each age range plus advanced classes to keep your dog engaged and having fun.

Since 2013, Follow My Lead has serviced over 17,000 private and group training sessions in the Greater Sacramento Area.

“Follow My Lead has far exceeded my expectations when I signed my puppy up for training. We started her at 9 weeks old, and she’s now 5.5 months and has completed 6 one-on-one sessions, 3 group sessions, and many more puppy play times. I’ve watched her transform from a bit of a wild puppy into an (I might be biased here) absolutely perfect dog.”

“We recently had training sessions for our puppy, Kenny. Liz was very friendly and extremely helpful with teaching Kenny( and us). He like yo bite everything and Liz helped with teaching us how to redirect that. He had never been on a leash before and she trained us on walking with a leash. I highly recommend Follow My Lead for anyone looking for dog training.”

“Liz was great! I have never had a dog and my cat and I recently moved in with my boyfriend and his 10 year old fur baby Winnie. We were hoping that we could get some tips to acclimate the pets to each other. We’ve had 3 lessons and have seen tons of progress! Winnie doesn’t get as distracted by the kitty and responds to us quickly so we have a more peaceful house. Liz was so patient with me and all of my questions, I needed some training on how to be a good dog-mom too and I’ve been super happy to have her guidance.”

“Got a typical puppy exhibiting typical puppy behavior and don’t know what to do? GET IN TO SEE JENNIFER!!! She has helped our sweet Stella stop some of those annoying things puppies do (chewing, bad leash manners, not listening, excessive barking, pee accidents, etc.) so she can just be the super sweet dog she’s meant to be.”

FAQ's
What Training Method(s) do you use?

We always start with a positive training environment to make training fun and engaging. If you would like to explore other training methods, we are well versed in most, to all training methods, but, before we transition to alternative methods, we take the time to teach you how, when, and why you may want to consider non-standard equipment.

Puppy classes provide safe, rich socialization, help prevent common behavior problems, and teach basic training foundations and are recommended by the many local veterinary clinics we partner with.

The first 8 weeks of your puppy’s life are essential to building your puppy’s confidence in all situations by making sure they trust you in all environments.

Training your pup is going to be a group effort, so everyone is invited!

Each class is unique and detailed instructions will be sent to you as soon as you register.

Make sure to bring treats – lots of treats. We want you and your pup to love coming to class! We’ve got you covered on the water.

Our current classes are all held in a private space in Rancho Cordova, CA.

As we grow our puppy training programs, additional locations may be offered.

We would love to work with your puppy 1-on-1 . We can work on building a strong foundation in your home so the class can be a great out-of-home experience!

After you complete the private training, you can also inquire about the Level 2 class!
